Closed Landfill Inventory
The Solid Waste division is responsible for creating and maintaining an inventory of all the closed landfill facilities in the Panhandle. To the extent reliable information is available, the Solid Waste division has determined the approximate location and size of those facilities and identified the current owners of the property on which these closed facilities sit. Building over a closed landfill can result in costly consequences. Therefore, it is important for the public to be aware of their potential existence. This inventory will continue to be maintained and updated in an effort to achieve a higher level of data accuracy.
