Child Care Services

One difficulty low-income and entry level workers face is accessing affordable child care. Each year, the region’s eight Workforce Solutions offices provide financial assistance to more than 2,500 eligible families in need of such aid. Over 4,500 children receive subsidized care through 160 licensed day care centers and other providers. In addition, Workforce Solutions staff also provides financial assistance to eligible child care providers in need of equipment, developmental materials, and training to upgrade the quality of services they provide.
