Employer Services
Each year, our eight Workforce Solutions offices handle over 8,500 job orders and help more than 3,000 employers find qualified workers. The staff in these offices recruit, prescreen and refer only those individuals who meet specified requirements. Employers willing to hire, train and retain workers from special population groups may qualify for financial or tax incentives.
Workforce Solutions staff have close relationships with our region’s community colleges, and can work with those institutions to develop and fund specialized training that companies may need when expanding. They can also help employers that are reducing personnel by providing outplacement and retraining services for affected workers, accessing alternative resources that may make it possible to reduce the size of a lay-off, and assisting with the filing of a petition for trade assistance, if appropriate.
Finally, information on the economy, labor market and employment law are available to employers through the Workforce Solutions staff.
